FRENCH CLOTHES

by Meg, Ariel, Bree, Courtney, Ashleigh, Nathan, Kailyn, Mike, Kenny, Joey, Taylor, and Gabi

BONJOUR and welcome to our website! The first reason you should know about the French words for clothes is so that you will have more fashion sense. The second reason is so you can go to a French-speaking shop in French-speaking countries. Another reason is if you lose a piece of your luggage in a French-speaking country, you can ask people if they have seen it. Enjoy our picture dictionary.

1. Maillot is bathing suit. Maybe you bought your last bathing suit in the mail.

2. Sweatshirt is the same in French as it is in English.

3. You say jeans in French the same way you do in English.

4. You say shorts in French the same way that you do in English except no 's' on the end.

5. You can remember belt which is ceinture because a belt goes in the center of your body.

6. Pants sound like pantalon.

7. Remember a dress is robe in French. Royalty wear robes, but they also wear fancy dresses.

8. In French you say sweater by saying pull. You have to pull it over your head to put it on.

9. In French you say ring by saying anneau. Just think of... I want "a new" ring.
