Maine in Français
Bonjour from Zach, Celena, Katie,
Brittany, Annda, Fiona, Jackie, Dustin, Chris, Nicole, Anastacia, Nick,
and Tommy!
Our language project was French and in
French we had to do pictures in Maine. We need to know this because for
example, if you had an exchange student in your house and you wanted to
show them around Maine you could tell them what something is in their language.
The same could happen the other way around. If you were an exchange student
you could tell what the person you were staying with was saying. You can
really impress your friends by pointing out things on a trip in Maine in
French. So enjoy!
Click on the
to hear the words in that
row. The pronunciations will open in a new window. You can resize the window
and move it so you can see the words as you hear the pronunciations.

TIPS
You can remember the word ocean in
French because the word océan is spelled the same way as the word
ocean in English.
You can remember the word rivière
because it is spelled similar to the word river in English.
The word lobster is easy to remember
because you can cook them at home and in French the word for lobster is
homard.
To remember ice just think that ice
sometimes looks like glass and ice in French is spelled glace.
For seagull just remember that seagulls
act like monsters because they take your food when you are on a picnic.
Seagull in French is called mouette. Mouette starts out like monster.
For lighthouse just remember that
sometimes people put fairs by lighthouses that are on dry land - lighthouse
in French is spelled like phare.
Last but not least, when you have
a snow day you have joy in you. We got the idea for this tip because snow
day in French is spelled jour de neige which almost sounds like it starts
with joy.
