The Ocean in French!

~~~ Bonjour from Matt, Ben, Liz, Meghan, Matt, Andrew, and Ryan!! ~~~
The last thing you probably want to do at the beach is study. BUT after you go swimming, build a sand castle, play with your dog, and eat, you might want something else to do! That's where we come in. Why not learn words about the beach while you're at the beach? And an even better idea - if you go to the beach in France or Quebec, you'll want to know what people are saying, won't you? If they say watch out for the 'requin' you will definitely want to understand. If they say there is a nice 'dauphin' around, you will want to try and see it. The beach will offer you more if you speak French! After you go, come back and tell us how it went.
Gee, I see a fin in the water!!! Do you 'reckon' it is a requin? If you 'reckon' it's a requin, then you must be seeing a shark!
If you own a horse, and don't clean out its stable, it can get dusty. It will soon look dirty, like it was covered with sand. Sable means sand, only one letter away from stable!
Some fish are poisonous like the lion fish. French can save your life if you remember that some poisson have lots of 'poison'.
If you don't use your boat much, 'bats' might decide it's OK to start sleeping in it. Use your bateau often to lessen the chance.
Wouldn't it be strange to catch a 'peach' in the ocean while you were in the middle of pêcher? Not likely to happen, but it would make a great story and help you remember that pêcher means to fish.
Have you taken swimming lessons and are now 'fond' of swimming in the deep end of the pool? If so, you want to check out the end marked profond if you go to a pool in France.
'Ten' hundred feet below the water you will be in complete 'ténèbres'. That's right - complete darkness.
