SPANISH DAYS AND MONTHS

We love Spanish every day and month of the year! WHO? You might ask. Colin, Brian, Rachel, Joey, Travis, Tyler, U-Jay, Kayla, Autumn, Zack, Josh, Chelsea, and Max of course.

HEY PEOPLE!!!!! You are probably wondering why you are reading this. We'll tell you. It is important to know the Spanish days and months of the year because you have to know what day and month it is and if it is a holiday you need to know how to ask. You may need to know what your birthday is if you are signing up for something and it asks for your birthday. Maybe you might have a calendar in Spanish and it says something like 'dia de los valintines' and you want to know what it means...

DÍA DE MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

AGOSTO

August

Our Tips:

1. You can remember the word julio by thinking of July because it sounds like that word.

2. One way you can recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day is by remembering that the Spanish also has Martin Luther in it.

3. You can remember Valentine's day by remembering it has the word valentines in it.

4. To remember January think of Enron!

5. Most of the months sound like the English ones, but only a little different.

6. To remember April just flip the p over and make it a b and you get abril in Spanish.

7. September sounds like septiembre which is the Spanish form for it (an example of a tip above).

The words below go to a game. Match the English words to the Spanish ones. Check your answer to the months above. Have fun!
