The Ocean in Spanish!!!

We love Spanish and we hope you will love it too! William, Maggie, Francis, Chris, Cody, Anne, and Brent

Dreams of becoming a marine biologist? Maybe you want to be a professional diver? Ever wanted to be in the Navy? There are all kinds of things we can be with a good knowledge of the ocean! Of course getting a good job means lots of hard work and studying a lot. Since you are learning about the ocean, why not do it in Spanish? That way you will learn about the ocean and learn a foreign language at the same time! Next time you go to the beach, see how many of these things you can name!

+ Most nets aren't red, but if you imagine just for this website that they are, then you won't forget that red means net!

+ The floor of an outdoor sports arena can collect a lot of sand! The word arena means sand.

+ If a whale curled up in a circle, it would look like a ball! Ballena means whale.

+ Medusa had many snakes in her hair. The word medusa in Spanish means jellyfish. Instead of having many snakes, they have many arms. Kind of similar, don't you think?

+ Tortuga reminds us of tortoise and a tortoise is kind of similar to a turtle.

+ You can find squids in the Pacific Ocean which borders California. The state abbreviation for California is CA. CA starts the word for squid in Spanish - calamar.

+ Iceberg = Iceberg. No explanation needed.
