I think the best thing about this project was how we got to make a web page that we created. I thought it was cool how we got to let our imaginations go wild. I learned a lot of really neat things during this project. We learned a lot about technology. We learned how to create webpages and put pictures on it. We also learned different words in different languages. I had a great time making a webpage, something I never knew how to do! This was very fun.

STUDENT COMPUTER LESSON REQUIREMENTS

Use this as a checklist to make sure you complete the assignment!!

1.  Your group will create a picture dictionary of 32 words.  Now that you are part of a group, you will soon be deciding on what words you want to appear on YOUR site. We will learn how to translate these words on the Internet.

2.  All words have a picture.  We will be drawing our own pictures and inserting them into the dictionary after we scan them. You will receive a sheet with squares to complete your drawings in. All pictures should be neat and colorful. This will make people want to look at your website for a long time and come back often! Make sure all words are labeled.

3.  The lesson should start with an introductory paragraph (at least five sentences) that welcomes visitors to your dictionary page and tells why it is important for people to study your topic and language.

4.  Remember that you are also teaching a lesson, not just showing a bunch of words and pictures. This will help people learn your words a lot more quickly. Your group will have to think of a way to teach those words over the computer.  Try to make connections to English if possible - remember these languages are Indo-European and have many cognates!  You must supply the learner with tips on how to learn at least seven of the words. This is your turn to be the teacher!

5.  At the end of your lesson give your learners a chance to practice what they have just studied. Include a game or a quiz to practice at least ten of the words and give the answers at the end.

6. Your work must be saved!! Save all writing to the html folder under "Willette" and all drawings to the images folder under "Willette".
