THIS YEAR'S SUPER UPDATES!

This site is a continual work in progress, so make sure to check back for updates!

2003-2004

1. We added 244 pictures each to French, German, and Spanish! This means that we added 762 pictures total to those languages!

2. Each language now shows you a list of common expressions that you can use when you meet somebody that speaks that language!

3. We have added three new topics to the French, German, and Spanish pages! Now you can learn how to talk about the ocean, sky and space, and the United States of America in the three languages!!

4. You can now view the home page and links page in five languages (English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish!)

5. Two new languages appear on our website! This year we saw the arrival of Portuguese and Vietnamese. Each of those languages also has pronunciation guides, a list of places that speak those languages, basic expressions, and sound files. These languages add an additional couple hundred words to our website - actually bringing the total to over 2,600 foreign words!!

6. You can learn the alphabet in each language and how to count up to 1,000!

7. Our scoring rubric is now posted on the site too! You can find it under the link "assessment."

8. You will now find maps and important information for each country that speaks French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, or Vietnamese. Once inside the dictionary, just click on the links that say "Where do they speak...?" This is a great place to start for doing country research projects (for foreign language, social studies, science, etc.)!

WOW!! In two years we have more than doubled our original number of words!! We've worked really hard and hope you enjoy all of this year's updates! :)

2002-2003

1. We added 160 pictures to each language! This means that we added 480 new pictures total to the dictionary. Our trilingual picture dictionary now has 1,680 words!

2. All of the languages now show accentuation! We added the following letters and symbols to the dictionary this year!: à, á, ä, ç, é, ë, í, î, ñ, ó, ö, ú, and ü.

3. There are now lists of places that speak French, German, and Spanish available on this website. Find out where you can use your new language skills!

4. You can now find a brief pronunciation guide to each language. These guides point out some of the letters that French-, German-, and Spanish-speakers pronounce very differently from English.

5. You can now practice your new vocabulary skills with students from around the world. There is a link on our homepage which will take you to penpal sites. Have fun!

6. Most importantly - our dictionary now speaks! You can hear each word in the dictionary by clicking on the sound files in the dictionary section of all three languages!
